Location: Blue Hills (on the beach)

Ambiance: the beach bar you dream of, chilled out atmosphere on picnic tables steps from the ocean - welcoming whether you are just passing through or want to spend an afternoon here

Best Bet for Live Music: Saturday and Sunday afternoons from ~1 to 4pm and Wednesday evenings from 8pm plus DJ Wednesday & Friday from 5 to 11pm and Sundays from 6 - 10pm

Recent Lineup: Dexter Landy (Sat), Kaz Hall (Sun), We Funk Junkanoo Band (Wed), guest appearances by Julian Garland plus resident DJ Terro

Food & Drink: extensive menu including bar snacks (conch a few ways, chicken wings, and fries), main dishes (conch, seafood, chicken, beef, pork, veggies), burgers, and a kids menu - it does not disappoint (menu)

Happy Hour: no

Insider Tip #1: NO reservations required for daytime or evenings other than Wednesday - but if you are going for the Wednesday show, always call for a reservation especially in the high season

Insider Tip #2: if you are headed there for a Wednesday, “make reservations for a casual dinner around 7pm...the Junkanoo Band comes thru there at 8pm (hypnotic, percussion band, brightly coloured costumes) they wind their way up from the beach, thru the tables to the dance floor...play for awhile then a DJ takes over!” (thanks Kate S for this tip!)

Insider Tip #3: grab the fish tacos to share - they are not cheap but its a large portion typically made with fresh, blackened grouper that you construct yourself - includes peas & rice, coleslaw, a delicious black bean sauce, and don’t forget to top it off with the island’s Peppa Joy hot sauce

Feet in the sand, picnic tables under palm trees, turquoise water steps away, friendly staff, the conch man, and even a ring toss game - there is perhaps not a better beach bar on the island to simply let time pass. Kick back with a few (strong) rum punches and enjoy live music Sat or Sun afternoon - or for an entirely different feel, go for their well known Wed night party, featuring the We Funk Junkanoo band, a fire dancer, and a DJ.

Go on Wednesday night for the conch and the Junkanoo! The Wednesday Junkanoo and Fire Eater were so fun! And the conch fritters and cracked conch were delicious too. Our entrees were good too, but we didn't eat much because we were distracted by the entertainment. We ended up getting a rum cake to go that we ate in bed at our resort. Such a fun night! Reservations on Wednesday night are a must!

“The conch shack is the perfect, tropical beach spot. It’s super kid friendly with lots of things for kids to do like tiki toss and a tire swing. Live music was great on Sunday’s. She played our wedding song without knowing. Jamesly was the most awesome waiter/host! He let us move tables many times, and the food here was incredible! Definitely a must visit.”
