Barbetta House Beach BBQ @ the Somerset

Location: Grace Bay

Ambiance: family friendly beach BBQ and bonfire - with rum bar, tiki torches, one of the island’s top entertainers, buffet dinner, and a fire dancer - expect lots of fun and dancing - this is the beach BBQ party on the island!

Best Bet for Live Music: Tuesday evenings at the beach BBQ

Recent Lineup: Raj the Entertainer

Food & Drink: stuff yourself silly at the buffet with barbecued / jerk ribs, jerk chicken, flank steak, grilled fish, hot dogs and island-style rice and peas, corn on the cob, vegetables and a range of salads (menu) plus a rum bar

Happy Hour: no

Insider Tip #1: everyone is at this beach barbecue in Grace Bay - from families, to couples, to groups! If you are trying to decide between here and the BBQ at the Wymara, Somerset is a more upbeat / lively BBQ & party - Raj is singing and entertaining you, the fire dancer is quite a show, and there will be limbo contest and more. This BBQ is “more aimed at children / families” and those after a bit of an event whereas the BBQ at the Wymara is a more more romantic, chilled out vibe aimed at adults

Insider Tip #2: So there are no surprises, price of $65 for adults and $35 for kids (plus $20 for lobster upgrade in season) excludes drinks and government tax (this is true of list prices at most places!). That being said, see Jody’s comment below - “we soon discovered it was well worth the price"!”

Designed for all ages with a very family friendly feel, the weekly beach BBQ in front of the Somerset Resort is a lively way to spend your Tuesday evening on Grace Bay. With Raj the Entertainer running the show and an incredible fire dancer - you will want to get to the generous buffet early so you are not too stuffed for the party or the limbo contest!

“Great beach BBQ! Tuesday night Beach Bonfire at Somerset resort was a nice night out on the beach. It was hosted by Barbetta (the restaurant at the Somerset) so the food was very good, especially the excellent brisket. The singing DJ was great fun, as was the fire act (they called him the dragon). Capped off with a limbo contest.”

Fantastic Bonfire Beach Buffet! Four couples attended the Tuesday night Bonfire Beach Barbecue hosted by Barbetta House. Initially we were concerned about the high price. However, we soon discovered it was well worth the price. The menu choices were vast! The flavors outstanding. The grilled lobster was HUGE and mouth watering. The consensus at our table of 8 was the barbecue ribs were the hands down winner on the menu. They were amazing! The pitcher of rum punch did not last long at our table - outstanding! The music and dancing were fun. The fire performer was an added bonus we didn't expect. What a great evening on the beach!
